Police introduced a canine sniffer dog, which led them to Sentongo, a witch-doctor who was arrested and detained at Kiboga Police Station.

Police of Kiboga District have arrested a man suspected of killing two siblings in a suspected human sacrifice.

The suspect in custody has been identified as Sulaiman Sentongo, a witch doctor of Kasenene village in the same district.

According to Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Region Police spokesperson, they registered a case of missing children on Wednesday from  Rebecca Nakate of Magi Village, Kapeke Subcounty, the mother of the victims.

It is said that the mother went with her two children to the garden in the morning but sent them back home to have lunch at around midday but she did not find them at home later which prompted her to report to police.

The two siblings were identified as Esther Nakasumba, aged two, and Sylvia Nantongo, 5.

“It was today, Thursday April 4, at around 7:30am when the headless body part of a girl was discovered at Kyato along Kiboga highway," Kawala said.

"This body was later identified as that of Esther Nakasumba."

She revealed that detectives also recovered a piece of paper underneath the body directing them to where the other parts were dumped.

“The DPC and the team of Scene of Crime Officers followed the directions which led them to some burnt bricks at Kasenene village where the two heads were found,” she added.

Police introduced a canine sniffer dog, which led them to Sentongo, a witch-doctor who was arrested and detained at Kiboga Police Station.

Kawala said some exhibits were recovered from the Sentongo’s shrine that will help in investigations.

She, however, cautioned parents in her area of jurisdiction to take extra care for their children to guard them against criminals who targets them for kidnap.
